16th May 2016. Moving Out Day.

The removal men did arrive the next day but their idea of packing everything and then moving it into our storage unit wasn’t quite the same as mine!

Darren was at a meeting for most of the day and I ended up packing most of our things because the removal men had decided that they only had time to move the furniture. Darren arrived home just as they were leaving and pointed out that they still had a number of items of heavy furniture to move (they were just keen to get home and had apparently thought to hell with finishing this job, and I was too exhausted to care so thank goodness he arrived home when he did!)

The motorhome was all packed and decorated with presents from our friends.  Eileen gave us some plastic boxes which fitted beautifully in our bedroom cupboards, I filled those with our clothes.   Anne and Paul gave us a St Christopher for a safe journey and Margaret gave me a Union Jack badge so that we didn’t forget home.  We had some lovely cards too which added a bit of colour to the van.

That evening our lovely friends at the Haslemere Sub-Aqua Club HSAC took us out for a farewell meal at Chilli Nights in Haslemere and Liz gave us a notebook each so that we could record everything on our trip.

We had a wonderful evening with them all. We arrived home and I started walking towards the house to go to bed until Darren pointed to the van and I realised we would be sleeping in that from now on!
