17th May 2016. Final Tasks Before the Off.

On Tuesday we took the van to be MOT’d and I dropped Darren off at home so that he could take our trusty old SEAT Alhambra to a car dealers while I went to see my friends Margaret and Eileen, I’m going to miss my weekly meet up with them both.

They gave me a really nice surprise when they told me we were going out for a goodbye lunch at The Chocolate Frog, I do love eating and having a meal with my lovely friends was very special, it would have been great if we’d had the time to wander round the gift barns at the Chocolate Frog as they’d planned but we ran out of time and I had to leave to drive over to Fleet to collect Darren who was now car-less!

In the evening we went to Guildford to meet our friends Janet and Paul for a final meal with them, the previous week Janet had pointed out that if the house was being packed on Monday we wouldn’t have anywhere to cook on Tuesday evening (I’d completely forgotten that’s what the cooker was for in the van, I know that only too well by now) so she’d booked a table for us at Bill’s in Guildford.

We had a lovely evening with them both, marred only slightly by the long walk back to the car park, we don’t know Guildford very well and we’d parked a very long way from the restaurant so it took ages to get back to the car and then 30 mins to drive home so we ended up having a very late night.
