14th December 2016. Altea, Spain.

I was up early(ish) this morning (I thought), I’d booked the washing machine for 8.30 a.m. and I also wanted to get some bread from the bread service which arrived every day at 8.30 a.m.  Darren had put the alarm on for 7.30 a.m. then pressed the snooze button to give us a 10 minute lie in and I’d jumped out of bed, picked up my wash and was just going to the shower block when I heard the bread van turn up, rather confused I rushed back to the van to find that it wasn’t 7.45 a.m. as I’d thought, it was 8.30 a.m!  I dumped my wash bag, woke Darren and asked him to get the bread then rushed over to reception to sort out the washing.

Once the washing was done we decided to stretch our legs and walk up to L’Albir for coffee.  On the way up there we passed a couple whose Rottweiller had had a dodgy stomach and the wife was in the process of trying to clear it up, we laughed and said to them, we knew what that was like from our experiences with our large dog, however at that moment the roll of ‘poo bags’ fell out of the lady’s pocket and INTO the runny poo!  Whoops!  We left them to it at that point and carried on to the café.  We were sitting drinking coffee overlooking the sea when they walked past a while later, I wonder how they’d dealt with the ‘poo bag’ issue!

We spent a long time people watching and on the way back to the van I paddled in the sea, it was a  bit deeper there than it had been further along the beach so I went in right up to my knees and hoped that I wouldn’t fall in.  I hope I get to swim while we’re in Spain.

When we got back to the site we said hello to the lovely little Dachshund who was sitting in the doorway at reception.  We were told he had to see us before we patted him because otherwise it would make him jump because he was deaf!  We spent the rest of the day in the van doing household chores and answering emails until I saw the beautiful sunset and rushed out to take some photos.
